What is the role of an Accredited Professional?

WiredScore’s Accredited Professionals are trusted advisers to clients, helping them create smarter, better-connected buildings. Our Accredited Professionals manage the certification process for clients who want to achieve WiredScore certification for digital connectivity or SmartScore certification for smart technology.
Submit a development project or existing building to WiredScore to begin the certification process.
Make an initial assessment of the building against our scorecard criteria.
Use your expertise to identify and recommend improvements to your client.
Gather and submit evidence to achieve certification.
Your client receives a full report to understand how their building scored.
WiredScore will support your client to promote the building and its certification rating to the market.

Are there any prerequisites for becoming a WiredScore AP or SmartScore AP?

Although there are no formal prerequisites, we highly recommend prior working experience in fields related to WiredScore or SmartScore certification before enrolling on the WiredScore Accredited Professionals program. Please complete our Course Finder quiz to find the right accreditation program for you.

How long is my accreditation valid for?

Your accreditation is valid for two years from the date that you qualify. If you go on to complete an additional WiredScore or SmartScore accreditation program, we will extend the length of your previous accreditation(s) to two years from the start date of your most recently achieved accreditation.

What do I need to do to renew my accreditation when it expires?

You are eligible to renew your accreditation for free if you work with WiredScore to certify a building during your accreditation period and have completed all mandatory Accredited Professional training. AP’s whose accreditations have lapsed and who are not eligible for a free renewal must pay $250 (or equivalent if you are outside the USA) to renew their accreditation.

What is the format of the training?

Training is delivered via online on-demand courses. You’ll learn about technology trends in real estate and how they impact your clients and WiredScore’s certifications, including our scorecard and certification process. Complete an interactive case study and online exam to become accredited.

What is the format of the exam?

AP exams are taken online. All questions are multiple-choice. There are 30 questions to answer and the pass mark is 70%. You have two hours to complete the exam.

How soon will I receive my exam results?

Exam results are available immediately after you complete the exam.

What languages is the training available in?

Training is available in English and French.

How long do the training courses take to complete?

The training course for each accreditation will take approximately 6 hours to complete. You can stop and start the course as you work through the content to fit it around your schedule.

What happens if I fail the accreditation exam?

You can retake any accreditation exam once at no additional cost.

What support will I receive as I complete my accreditation training?

During the course, you will be invited to schedule a call with a member of our Operations team who can answer any questions you have about the scorecard and certification process to prepare you to take the exam.

Are there additional training materials that I need to study in addition to the online course to prepare to take an AP exam?

No, all of the information you need to be familiar with to take an AP exam is included in the online course.
